SYMPTOM CHART

Condition Possible Sources Action
  • No communication with the smart junction box (SJB)
  • Circuitry

  • The control illumination is inoperative
  • Smart junction box (SJB)
  • The instrument cluster illumination is inoperative
  • Instrument cluster
  • CHECK the other illumination sources for correct operation.
    • If the other illumination sources operate correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the other illumination sources do not operate correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
  • The audio unit illumination is inoperative
  • Audio unit
  • CHECK the other illumination sources for correct operation.
    • If the other illumination sources operate correctly, REMOVE the audio unit. REFER to AUDIO UNIT . SEND it to an authorized repair facility. TEST the system for normal operation after the repair.
    • If the other illumination sources do not operate correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
  • The electronic automatic temperature control (EATC) illumination is inoperative
  • EATC module
  • CHECK the other illumination sources for correct operation.
    • If the other illumination sources operate correctly, INSTALL a new EATC module. REFER to CONTROL COMPONENTS . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the other illumination sources do not operate correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
  • The auxiliary climate control illumination is inoperative
  • Circuitry
  • Auxiliary climate control assembly
  • The power window switch illumination is inoperative
  • Power window switch
  • CHECK the operation of the power windows.
    • If the power windows operate correctly, INSTALL a new power window switch. REFER to GLASS, FRAMES AND MECHANISMS . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the power windows do not operate correctly, REFER to GLASS, FRAMES AND MECHANISMS to continue diagnosis of the power windows.
  • The power door lock switch illumination is inoperative
  • Power door lock switch
  • With the ignition switch in the ON position, MEASURE the voltage between the LH door lock switch C541-4, circuit 2086 (RD/LB), harness side and ground; or between the RH door lock switch C605-4, circuit 2086 (RD/LB), harness side and ground.
    • If the voltage is greater than 10 volts, INSTALL a new power door lock switch. REFER to HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the voltage is not greater than 10 volts, REPAIR circuit 2086 (RD/LB). TEST the system for normal operation.
  • The steering wheel control illumination is inoperative
