Removal and Installation

NOTE:
The seat riser is removed the same way.
- Remove the 40 percent rear seat. For additional information, refer to SEAT - REAR, SECOND ROW, FREESTYLE .
- Remove the 40 percent rear seat backrest. For additional information, refer to SEAT BACKREST - SECOND ROW, 40 PERCENT, FREESTYLE .
- Release the cushion trim cover J-clip under the seat.
- From under the seat and at the back, between the cushion foam pad and frame, release the J-clip attached to the seat cushion frame.
- Pull the cushion trim cover retainers out from between the seat track and the cushion frame.
- Remove the cushion foam pad and cushion trim cover.
- Remove 2 screws, pull and remove the seat track outboard inner cover.
- Remove 3 screws and the seat track outboard outer cover.
- Remove the screw and the manual recliner handle.
- Remove 2 screws, pull and remove the recliner outer cover.
- On assembly, make sure the release strap is through the cover opening.
- Remove the 2 cables from the recliner and route them out of the seat cushion frame.
- Remove the 2 bolts and the recliner.
- To install, tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
- Remove the 6 cushion frame-to-seat track nuts and remove the seat track.
- To install, tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).
- Remove 2 screws, pull and remove the seat track inboard inner cover.
- Remove 3 screws and the seat track inboard outer cover.
- Remove the 2 bolts, route out the cable and remove the outboard latch foot.
- Remove the 2 bolts, route out the cable and remove the inboard latch foot.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION:
The recliner is spring loaded. If the lever is released, the spring load on the recliner will be released, pivoting the recliner arm very quickly to the release position. Use care when releasing the lever and stay away from the pivoting recliner arm.
