Pinpoint Test I: DTC B1054 - Driver Seatbelt Pretensioner Cross Link to Another Firing Loop: Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Mercury Montego, 2005 Ford Freestyle, and 2005 Ford Five Hundred. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Most faults are due to connector and/or wiring concerns. Carry out a thorough Inspection and Verification before proceeding with the pinpoint test.
NOTE: Safety canopy modules equipped on Five Hundred and Montego vehicles have a single squib (safety canopy module squib 1 only). Safety canopy modules equipped on Freestyle vehicles have a dual squib (safety canopy module squib 1 and safety canopy module squib 2).
  1. I1 CHECK FOR CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND DTCs 
    WARNING: Restraint system diagnostic tools are for service only. Tools must be removed prior to operating the vehicle over the road. Failure to remove restraint system diagnostic tools could result in injury and possible violation of vehicle safety standards.
    WARNING: Do not handle, move or change the original horizontal mounting position of the restraints control module (RCM) while the RCM is connected and the ignition switch is ON. Failure to follow these instructions may result in the inadvertent deployment of the safety canopy and risk of personal injury.
    WARNING: Never probe the connectors on the air bag module. Doing so can result in air bag deployment, which can result in personal injury.
    WARNING: The safety belt pretensioner is a pyrotechnic device. Always wear safety glasses when repairing an air bag equipped vehicle and when handling a safety belt buckle pretensioner or safety belt retractor pretensioner. Never probe a pretensioner electrical connector. Doing so could result in pretensioner or air bag deployment and could result in personal injury.
    WARNING: Never probe the electrical connector on a safety canopy module. Doing so can result in safety canopy deployment.
    NOTE: If a seat equipped with a supplemental restraint system (SRS) component is being serviced, the SRS must be depowered.
    NOTE: After diagnosing or repairing an SRS, the restraint system diagnostic tools must be removed before operating the vehicle over the road. 
    NOTE: The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: On-Demand Self Test.
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Retrieve/Record Continuous DTCs.
    • Was DTC B1054 retrieved during the on-demand self test? 
    1. Yes  : This is a hard fault. The fault condition is still present. This fault cannot be cleared until it is corrected and the DTC is no longer retrieved during the on-demand self test.

      For DTC B1054 and DTC:

      B105C, GO to I2.

      B105D, GO to  I3.

      B105E, GO to  I4.

      B1046, GO to  I5.

      B1047, GO to  I6.

      B1048, GO to  I7.

      B1049, GO to  I8.

      B1055, GO to  I9.

      B1056, GO to  I10.

      B1057, GO to  I11.

      B1058, GO to  I12.

      B1059, GO to  I13.

    2. No  : This is an intermittent fault. The fault condition is not present at this time. GO to  I15.
  2. I2 CHECK RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE DRIVER SAFETY BELT PRETENSIONER CIRCUITS AND THE PASSENGER SAFETY CANOPY MODULE SQUIB 2 CIRCUITS 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Depower the system. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Disconnect: RCM C310a and C310b.
    • Disconnect: Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • Disconnect: Passenger Safety Canopy Module C9019.
    • Measure the resistance between RCM C310b:
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310b pin 9, circuit 1916 (PK/WH), harness side.
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310b pin 10, circuit 1917 (YE/LB), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310b pin 9, circuit 1916 (PK/WH), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310b pin 10, circuit 1917 (YE/LB), harness side.

    • Are the resistances greater than 1,000,000 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : GO to  I14.
    2. No  : REPAIR the affected circuits. GO to  I16.
  3. I3 CHECK RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE DRIVER SAFETY BELT PRETENSIONER CIRCUITS AND THE DEPLOYABLE STEERING COLUMN CIRCUITS 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Depower the system. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Disconnect: RCM C310a and C310b.
    • Disconnect: Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • Disconnect: Deployable Steering Column C226.
    • Measure the resistance between RCM C310b:
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310a pin 15, circuit 2136 (OG) harness side.
      • pin 18, circuit 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310a pin 15, circuit 2136 (OG), harness side.
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310a pin 16, circuit 2137 (RD/LB), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310a pin 16, circuit 2137 (RD/LB), harness side.

    • Are the resistances greater than 1,000,000 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : GO to  I14.
    2. No  : REPAIR the affected circuits. GO to  I16.
  4. I4 CHECK RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE DRIVER SAFETY BELT PRETENSIONER CIRCUITS AND THE DRIVER SAFETY CANOPY MODULE SQUIB 2 CIRCUITS 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Depower the system. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Disconnect: RCM C310a and C310b.
    • Disconnect: Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • Disconnect: Driver Side Safety Canopy Module C9018.
    • Measure the resistance between RCM C310b:
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310b pin 7, circuit 1914 (YE/LG), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310b pin 7, circuit 1914 (YE/LG), harness side.
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310b pin 8, circuit 1915 (BN/OG), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310b pin 8, circuit 1915 (BN/OG), harness side.

    • Are the resistances greater than 1,000,000 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : GO to  I14.
    2. No  : REPAIR the affected circuits. GO to  I16.
  5. I5 CHECK RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE DRIVER SAFETY BELT PRETENSIONER CIRCUITS AND DRIVER SAFETY CANOPY SQUIB 1 CIRCUITS 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Depower the system. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Disconnect: RCM C310a and C310b.
    • Disconnect: Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • Disconnect: Driver Side Safety Canopy C9018 (Freestyle) or C9031 (Five Hundred, Montego).
    • Measure the resistance between RCM C310b:
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310b pin 3, circuit 1633 (BK/OG), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310b pin 3, circuit 1633 (BK/OG), harness side.
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310b pin 4, circuit 1634 (RD/PK), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310b pin 4, circuit 1634 (RD/PK), harness side.

    • Are the resistances greater than 1,000,000 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : GO to  I14.
    2. No  : REPAIR the affected circuits. GO to  I16.
  6. I6 CHECK RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE DRIVER SAFETY BELT PRETENSIONER CIRCUITS AND THE DRIVER SEAT SIDE AIR BAG MODULE CIRCUITS 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Depower the system. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Disconnect: RCM C310a and C310b.
    • Disconnect: Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • Disconnect: Driver Seat Side Air Bag Module C3226.
    • Measure the resistance between RCM C310b:
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310b pin 1, circuit 1257 (WH/LB), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310b pin 1, circuit 1257 (WH/LB), harness side.
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310b pin 2, circuit 1258 (RD), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310b pin 2, circuit 1258 (RD), harness side.

    • Are the resistances greater than 1,000,000 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : GO to  I14.
    2. No  : REPAIR the affected circuits. GO to  I16.
  7. I7 CHECK RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE DRIVER SAFETY BELT PRETENSIONER CIRCUITS AND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG MODULE SQUIB 1 CIRCUITS 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Depower the system. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Disconnect: RCM C310a and C310b.
    • Disconnect: Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • Disconnect: Passenger Air Bag Module C256a.
    • Measure the resistance between RCM C310b:
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310a pin 3, circuit 607 (LB/OG), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310a pin 3, circuit 607 (LB/OG), harness side.
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310a pin 4, circuit 616 (PK/BK), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310a pin 4, circuit 616 (PK/BK), harness side.

    • Are the resistances greater than 1,000,000 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : GO to  I14.
    2. No  : REPAIR the affected circuits. GO to  I16.
  8. I8 CHECK RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE DRIVER SAFETY BELT PRETENSIONER CIRCUITS AND THE PASSENGER SAFETY BELT PRETENSIONER CIRCUITS 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Depower the system. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Disconnect: RCM C310a and C310b.
    • Disconnect: Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • Disconnect: Passenger Safety Belt Pretensioner C389.
    • Measure the resistance between RCM C310b:
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310b pin 35, circuit 1081 (YE/RD), harness side.
      • pin 18, circuit 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310b pin 35, circuit 1081 (YE/RD), harness side.
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310b pin 36, circuit 1082 (LB/BK), harness side.
      • pin 18, circuit 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310b pin 36, circuit 1082 (LB/BK), harness side.

    • Are the resistances greater than 1,000,000 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : GO to  I14.
    2. No  : REPAIR the affected circuits. GO to  I16.
  9. I9 CHECK RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE DRIVER SAFETY BELT PRETENSIONER CIRCUITS AND THE PASSENGER SEAT SIDE AIR BAG CIRCUITS 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Depower the system. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Disconnect: RCM C310a and C310b.
    • Disconnect: Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • Disconnect: Passenger Seat Side Air Bag Module C3227.
    • Measure the resistance between RCM C310b:
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310b pin 21, circuit 1259 (WH/YE), harness side.
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310b pin 22, circuit 1260 (BN/YE), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310b pin 21, circuit 1259 (WH/YE), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310b pin 22, circuit 1260 (BN/YE), harness side.

    • Are the resistances greater than 1,000,000 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : GO to  I14.
    2. No  : REPAIR the affected circuits. GO to  I16.
  10. I10 CHECK RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE DRIVER SAFETY BELT PRETENSIONER CIRCUITS AND THE PASSENGER SAFETY CANOPY MODULE SQUIB 1 CIRCUITS 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Depower the system. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Disconnect: RCM C310a and C310b.
    • Disconnect: Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • Disconnect: Passenger Side Safety Canopy Module C9019 (Freestyle) or C9032 (Five Hundred, Montego).
    • Measure the resistance between RCM C310b:
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310b pin 5, circuit 1635 (OG/LG), harness side.
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310b pin 6, circuit 1636 (YE/BK), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310b pin 5, circuit 1635 (OG/LG), harness side.
      • pin 18 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310b pin 6, circuit 1636 (YE/BK), harness side.

    • Are the resistances greater than 1,000,000 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : GO to  I14.
    2. No  : REPAIR the affected circuits. GO to  I16.
  11. I11 CHECK RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE DRIVER SAFETY BELT PRETENSIONER CIRCUITS AND THE DRIVER AIR BAG MODULE SQUIB 1 CIRCUITS 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Depower the system. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Disconnect: RCM C310a and C310b.
    • Disconnect: Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • Remove the driver air bag module. Refer to Removal .
    • Measure the resistance between RCM C310b:
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310a pin 1, circuit 614 (GY/OG), harness side.
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310a pin 2, circuit 615 (GY/WH), harness side.
      • pin 18 circuit 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310a pin 1, circuit 614 (GY/OG), harness side.
      • pin 18 circuit 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310a pin 2, circuit 615 (GY/WH), harness side.

    • Are the resistances greater than 1,000,000 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : GO to  I14.
    2. No  : REPAIR the affected circuits. GO to  I16.
  12. I12 CHECK RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE DRIVER SAFETY BELT PRETENSIONER CIRCUITS AND THE DRIVER AIR BAG MODULE SQUIB 2 CIRCUITS 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Depower the system. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Disconnect: RCM C310a and C310b.
    • Disconnect: Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • Remove the driver air bag module. Refer to Removal .
    • Measure the resistance between RCM C310b:
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310a pin 5, circuit 1516 (YE/WH), harness side.
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310a pin 6, circuit 1517 (RD/OG), harness side.
      • pin 18 circuit 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310a pin 5, circuit 1516 (YE/WH), harness side.
      • pin 18 circuit 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310a pin 6, circuit 1517 (RD/OG), harness side.

    • Are the resistances greater than 1,000,000 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : GO to  I14.
    2. No  : REPAIR the affected circuits. GO to  I16.
  13. I13 CHECK RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE DRIVER SAFETY BELT PRETENSIONER CIRCUITS AND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG MODULE SQUIB 2 CIRCUITS 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Depower the system. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Disconnect: RCM C310a and C310b.
    • Disconnect: Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • Disconnect: Passenger Air Bag Module C256b.
    • Measure the resistance between RCM C310b:
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310a pin 13, circuit 1518 (BK/WH), harness side.
      • pin 17, circuit 1079 (LG/RD), harness side and RCM C310a pin 14, circuit 1519 (LG/RD), harness side.
      • pin 18, circuit 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310a pin 13, circuit 1518 (BK/WH), harness side.
      • pin 18, circuit 1080 (LG/BK), harness side and RCM C310a pin 14, circuit 1519 (LG/RD), harness side.

    • Are the resistances greater than 1,000,000 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : GO to I14.
    2. No  : REPAIR the affected circuits. GO to  I16.
  14. I14 CONFIRM THE RCM FAULT 
    NOTE: Make sure all restraint system diagnostic tools, sensor electrical connectors, and the RCM electrical connectors are connected before carrying out the on-demand self test. If not, erroneous DTCs will be recorded.
    • Connect: Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-F395 to Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • Connect: Restraint System Diagnostic Tools 418-F395 (2 required) to Passenger Air Bag Module C256a and C256b (If previously disconnected).
    • Connect: Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-133 to Driver Seat Side Air Bag Module C3226 (If previously disconnected).
    • Connect: Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-F403 (Freestyle) or 418-F395 (Five Hundred, Montego) to Driver Safety Canopy C9018 (Freestyle) or C9031 (Five Hundred, Montego) (If previously disconnected).
    • Connect: Restraint System Diagnostic Tools 418-F395 (2 required) to Driver Air Bag Module Electrical Connectors (If previously disconnected).
    • Connect: Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-133 to Passenger Seat Side Air Bag Module C3227 (If previously disconnected).
    • Connect: Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-F395 to Passenger Safety Belt Pretensioner C389 (If previously disconnected).
    • Connect: Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-F395 to Deployable Steering Column C226 (If previously disconnected).
    • Connect: Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-F403 (Freestyle) or 418-F395 (Five Hundred, Montego) to Passenger Safety Canopy C9019 (Freestyle) or C9032 (Five Hundred, Montego) (If previously disconnected).
    • Connect: RCM C310a and C310b.
    • Repower the system. Do not  prove out the system at this time. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: On-Demand Self Test.
    • Was DTC B1054 retrieved during the on-demand self test? 
    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new RCM. REFER to RESTRAINTS CONTROL MODULE (RCM) . GO to  I16.
    2. No  : CHECK for causes of the intermittent fault. ATTEMPT to recreate the hard fault by flexing the wire harness and cycling the ignition key frequently. REPAIR any intermittent concerns found. GO to  I16.
  15. I15 CHECK FOR AN INTERMITTENT FAULT 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Depower the system. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Disconnect: Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • Connect: Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-F395 to Driver Safety Belt Pretensioner C354.
    • If DTC B105C is also present continuous:
      • Disconnect the passenger safety canopy module C9019.
      • Connect Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-F403 to passenger safety canopy C9019.
    • If DTC B105D is also present continuous:
      • Disconnect the deployable steering column C226.
      • Connect restraint system diagnostic tool 418-F395 to deployable steering column C226.
    • If DTC B105E is also present continuous:
      • Disconnect the driver safety canopy module C9018.
      • Connect Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-F403 to driver safety canopy C9018.
    • If DTC B1046 is also present continuous:
      • Disconnect the driver safety canopy module C9018 (Freestyle) or C9031 (Five Hundred, Montego).
      • For Freestyle vehicles, connect Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-F403 to driver safety canopy C9018.
      • For Five Hundred and Montego vehicles, connect restraint system diagnostic tool 418-F395 to driver safety canopy module C9031.
    • If DTC B1047 is also present continuous:
      • Disconnect the driver seat side air bag module C3226.
      • Connect Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-133 to driver seat side air bag module C3226.
    • If DTC B1048 is also present continuous:
      • Disconnect the passenger air bag module C256a and C256b.
      • Connect Restraint System Diagnostic Tools 418-F395 (2 required) to passenger air bag module C256a and C256b.
    • If DTC B1049 is also present continuous:
      • Disconnect the passenger safety belt pretensioner C389.
      • Connect Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-F395 to passenger safety belt pretensioner C389.
    • If DTC B1055 is also present continuous:
      • Disconnect the passenger seat side air bag module C3227.
      • Connect Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-133 to passenger seat side air bag module C3227.
    • If DTC B1056 is also present continuous:
      • Disconnect the passenger safety canopy module C9019 (Freestyle) or C9032 (Five Hundred, Montego).
      • For Freestyle vehicles, connect Restraint System Diagnostic Tool 418-F403 to passenger safety canopy C9019.
      • For Five Hundred and Montego vehicles, connect restraint system diagnostic tool 418-F395 to passenger safety canopy module C9032.
    • If DTC B1057 is also present continuous:
      • Remove the driver air bag module. Refer to Removal .
      • Connect Restraint System Diagnostic Tools 418-F395 (2 required) to driver air bag module electrical connectors.
    • If DTC B1058 is also present continuous:
      • Remove the driver air bag module. Refer to Removal .
      • Connect Restraint System Diagnostic Tools 418-F395 (2 required) to driver air bag module electrical connectors.
    • If DTC B1059 is also present continuous:
      • Disconnect the passenger air bag module C256a and C256b.
      • Connect Restraint System Diagnostic Tools 418-F395 (2 required) to passenger air bag module C256a and C256b.
    • Repower the system. Do not  prove out the system at this time. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: On-Demand Self Test.
    • Was DTC B1054 retrieved during the on-demand self test? 
    1. Yes  : This is a hard fault. The fault condition is now present. This fault cannot be cleared until it is corrected and the DTC is no longer retrieved during the on-demand self test.

      For DTC B1054 and DTC:

      B105C, GO to  I2.

      B105D, GO to  I3.

      B105E, GO to  I4.

      B1046, GO to  I5.

      B1047, GO to  I6.

      B1048, GO to  I7.

      B1049, GO to  I8.

      B1055, GO to  I9.

      B1056, GO to  I10.

      B1057, GO to  I11.

      B1058, GO to  I12.

      B1059, GO to  I13.

    2. No  : CHECK for causes of the intermittent fault. ATTEMPT to recreate the hard fault by flexing the wire harness and cycling the ignition key frequently. REPAIR any intermittent concerns found. GO to I16.
  16. I16 CHECK FOR ADDITIONAL DTCs 
    • Refer to the continuous DTCs recorded during Step  I1.
    • Were any continuous DTCs retrieved during Step   I1 ? 
    1. Yes  : Do not clear any DTCs until all DTCs have been resolved. GO to the RESTRAINTS CONTROL MODULE (RCM) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) TABLE  for pinpoint test direction.
    2. No  : RECONNECT the system. If previously directed to deactivate the system, REACTIVATE the system. REFER to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION . REPOWER the system. REFER to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING . PROVE OUT the system. CLEAR all DTCs.
