Side Crash Sensor: Removal

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove appropriate front seat. See FRONT SEAT . Fold back carpet to access side crash sensor.
- Remove pin-type retainer from side air bag sensor. Remove side crash sensor mounting bolts and position side crash sensor out from under carpet. Disconnect crash sensor electrical connector and remove crash sensor.
CAUTION:
Side crash sensor mounting bolts that are not properly tightened may cause air bag system malfunction. Improper air bag deployment may result. Ensure side crash sensor mounting bolts are tightened to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
