Diagnostics Activation Procedure (Seats Removed)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute for back-up power supply to deplete stored energy. Remove air bag simulators from left and right front seat belt pretensioner harness connectors and reconnect connectors. Install left and right B-pillar trim panels, assist handles and weatherstrip. Install left and right seat belt guides and mounting nuts. Tighten seat belt guide nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Close seat belt guide covers. Install left and right door scuff plates.
  2. Install front seat(s). Remove air bag simulators from left and right side air bag harness connectors and reconnect connectors. Remove air bag simulator from passenger-side air bag harness connector and reconnect connectors. Install instrument panel relay cover.
  3. Remove air bag simulator from upper clockspring harness connector and install driver-side air bag module. Connect negative battery cable. Perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . Reprogram pre-set radio frequencies and set clock.
