Test M: Right Side Crash Sensor Mounting Failure (DTC B2440): Description

Right side crash sensor monitors severity of crash event. If crash is severe enough, sensor will signal RCM to deploy right side air bag module. RCM monitors right side crash sensor circuit loop for signal that is out of range. If RCM detects signal that is out of range, indicating sensor mounting failure, it will store Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B2440 in memory and flash Code 43 on AIR BAG warning light.
