Component Replacement Activating Procedure (Seats Installed)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute for back-up power supply to deplete stored energy. Remove air bag simulators from right and left pretensioner harness connectors and reconnect connectors.
  2. Install trim panels and components removed to access pretensioners. On models equipped with side air bags, remove air bag simulators from right and left side air bag module harness connectors and reconnect connectors.
  3. On all models, connect negative battery cable. Move and tilt front seats to lowest and most rearward position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute for back-up power supply to deplete stored energy. Remove air bag simulator from passenger-side air bag module harness connector and reconnect connectors. Install instrument panel relay cover.
  4. Remove air bag simulator from clockspring harness connector and reconnect connectors. Install hood release lever. Install parking brake release lever. Install steering column opening steering column cover. Install central junction box cover.
  5. Connect negative battery cable. With all air bags installed and connected, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . Reprogram pre-set radio frequencies and set clock.
