Removal and Installation

- Remove the brake disc. For additional information, refer to REAR DISC BRAKE .
- Remove and discard the wheel bearing and hub bolts.
- To install, tighten to 120 Nm (89 lb-ft).
- If equipped, remove the wheel speed sensor bolt and position the sensor aside.
- To install, tighten to 14Nm (10 lb-ft).
- Remove and discard the rear axle shaft nut.
- To install, tighten to 350 Nm (258 lb-ft).
- Using the special tool, press the axle shaft out of the hub.
- Remove the wheel bearing and wheel hub.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:
When the wheel bearing and wheel hub is removed, it is possible that the steel stone shield may dislodge from the wheel bearing and wheel hub and remain in the the wheel knuckle bore opening. The steel stone shield must be removed from the wheel knuckle bore opening prior to wheel bearing and wheel hub installation. Failure to remove the steel stone shield will result in damage to the ABS wheel speed sensor.
NOTE:
Always install new suspension fasteners.
