Component Replacement Activating Procedure (Seats Installed)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable, if necessary. On models equipped with seat belt pretensioners, remove air bag simulators from right and left pretensioner harness connectors and reconnect connectors. Install trim panels and components removed to access seat belt pretensioners. Tighten seat belt guide nuts and mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. On all models, remove air bag simulator from passenger-side air bag module harness connector and reconnect connector. Install instrument panel relay cover. Remove air bag simulator from clockspring harness connector and reconnect connectors. Install lower instrument panel steering column cover. Install hood release lever and parking release lever. Install central junction fuse box panel cover.
  3. Reconnect negative battery cable. With all air bags installed and connected, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . Reprogram pre-set radio frequencies and set clock.
