Diagnosis Mode & Retrieving Codes

To retrieve codes, the diagnostic monitor must be switched to Diagnosis Mode. To enter Diagnosis Mode, turn ignition switch to ON position. After AIR BAG warning light illuminates for 7 seconds, turn ignition switch to OFF position within one second. Wait more than 3 seconds. Repeat procedure 3 more times. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If a fault exists, a start signal (2 seconds off, 2 seconds on, off, one second on, 2 seconds off) will be followed by a flash code (series of 1/2 second flashes). Start code and flash code will cycle continuously until ignition is turned off or diagnostic monitor is placed in User Mode. Identify fault code by counting 1/2 second flashes after start signal.
