  • Transmission overheating
  • Excessive vehicle or towing loads, severe vehicle use.
  • REFER to the vehicle owners manual for load and GVW/GCW information.
  • Incorrect fluid level.
  • CHECK and, if necessary, ADJUST the fluid to the correct level.
  • Fluid condition.
  • CHECK fluid condition.
  • Incorrect fluid type.
  • Transmission cooling system damaged, blocked, restricted or installed incorrectly.
  • CARRY OUT the transmission fluid cooler flow test.
  • System leaks.
  • INSPECT for leakage inspection procedures.
  • Engine overheating.
  • Powertrain control system electrical inputs/outputs, vehicle wiring harnesses, powertrain control module (PCM), torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid.
  • Internal transmission concerns.
  • REPAIR as necessary.
  • Inadequate transmission fluid flow
  • Transmission cooling system damaged, blocked, restricted or installed incorrectly.
  • INSPECT cooler lines for damage.
