For dimmable backlighting, when the headlamp switch is placed in the ON position, voltage is supplied to the dimmer switch through circuit 14 (BN). The dimmer switch then sends a variable voltage to the backlighting control system through circuit 19 (LB/RD). Ground is supplied to the backlighting control system through circuit 57 (BK).
For non-dimmable backlighting, when the ignition switch is placed in the RUN/START position, voltage is supplied to the illumination sources from the accessory delay relay through circuits 400 (LB/BK) and 54 (LG/YE).
