Removal and Installation

- Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.
- Disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coil by twisting while pulling upward.
- Remove the bolts and the ignition coil.
- To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
- Inspect the ignition coil for carbon tracks or damage.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Apply silicone brake caliper grease and dielectric compound to the inside of the spark plug wire boots.
CAUTION:
It is important to twist the spark plug wire boots while pulling upward to avoid possible damage to the spark plug wires.
CAUTION:
The spark plug wires must be connected in the correct firing order.
