Pinpoint Test O: The AUTOLAMPS Operate, But Parking, Rear Or License Lamps Are Inoperative

  1. O1 CHECK THE PARKING LAMP OPERATION 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Place the headlamp switch in the parking lamps ON position.
    • Are the parking lamps illuminated? 
    • Yes  : TURN the headlamp switch off. GO to O2.
    • No  : GO to diagnose the manual operation of the parking lamps.
  2. O2 CHECK CIRCUIT 14 (BN) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Disconnect: Vehicle Security Module C3008a.
    • Place the headlamp switch in the parking lamps ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between vehicle security module C3008a-6, circuit 14 (BN), harness side and ground

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    • Yes  : TURN the headlamp switch off. GO to  O3.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. O3 CHECK CIRCUIT 195 (TN/WH) FOR POWER 
    • Measure the voltage between vehicle security module C3008a-7, circuit 195 (TN/WH), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    • Yes  : GO to  O4.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. O4 CHECK FOR CORRECT VEHICLE SECURITY MODULE OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all vehicle security module connectors.
    • Check for:
      • Corrosion
      • Pushed-out pins
    • Connect all vehicle security module connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    • Yes  : INSTALL a new or vehicle security module. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
