Reversing Lamps

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Ford Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The reversing lamps receive voltage when the reversing lamp relay is energized. For vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission (A/T), the digital transmission range (TR) sensor routes power to the reversing lamp relay to energize the coil when the transmission is placed in REVERSE. For vehicles equipped with a manual transmission (M/T), the reversing lamp switch routes power to the reversing lamp relay to energize the coil when the transmission is places in REVERSE.
