Hydraulic Valve Tappet

Check contact and sliding surfaces of valve tappet for wear and scratches. Measure valve tappet diameter and valve tappet bore diameter, and calculate oil clearance. See CYLINDER HEAD  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. Holding valve tappet in hand, plunger should drop to bottom of body by own weight. If plunger does not move freely when assembled dry, replace valve tappet.
