Test M: Low Coolant Indicator Always On
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Ensure coolant reservoir is full. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If low engine coolant level indicator stays illuminated, go to next step. If low engine coolant level indicator illuminates for about 5 seconds and turns off, system is okay at this time.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect low engine coolant level switch harness connector C812. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If low engine coolant level indicator does not illuminate for about 5 seconds and turn off, go to next step. If low engine coolant level indicator illuminates for about 5 seconds and turns off, replace low engine coolant level switch.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect instrument interface module harness connector C440. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 12 (White/Green wire) at instrument interface module harness connector C440. See Figure . If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in White/Green wire.
- Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector C808A. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Black/Yellow wire) at instrument cluster harness connector C808A. See Figure . If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, inspect instrument cluster printed circuit. If instrument cluster printed circuit is okay, replace instrument interface module. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Black/Yellow wire.
