Spongy Brake Pedal With No Warning Indicator

  1. Check brakelines or hoses, fittings, master cylinder, and calipers. Bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM . If conventional brake system components are okay, go to next step. If conventional brake system components are faulty, see appropriate DISC & DRUM article for diagnosis.
  2. If pedal is still spongy, bleed brake system using NGS tester. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM . If brake pedal is not spongy, system is okay. Repeat self-test. If pedal is still spongy, problem is in base brake system. See appropriate DISC & DRUM article for diagnosis.
