Test C: Moon Roof Noisy During Operation

  1. Check moon roof looseness. If moon roof is loose, tighten moon roof panel retaining screws and check alignment. If moon roof is not loose, go to next step.
  2. Open moon roof for access. Check roof side channels and guides for loose objects. If any loose objects are found, examine moon roof mechanisms for missing components. Repair or replace as necessary. If no loose objects are found, go to next step.
  3. With moon roof open, check for correct installation of front track rails and moon roof panel guides. If front track rails and/or moon roof panel guides are incorrectly installed, replace moon roof cassette. If front track rails and moon roof panel guides are correctly installed, go to next step.
  4. Disassemble overhead console panel to access moon roof motor. Cycle moon roof from fully open to fully closed using moon roof control switch. If motor is excessively noisy, replace moon roof motor. If motor is not excessively noisy, verify customer complaint.
