Test A: Moon Roof Leaks

NOTE: Fully closed moon roof should be flush to 0.04" (1.0 mm) at each front corner, and flush to 0.04" (1.0 mm) at each rear corner.
  1. Cycle moon roof from fully open to closed position. Watch operation while checking for binding or gaps. If moon roof operation is smooth and closes flush, go to next step. If moon roof operation is not smooth or does not close flush, adjust moon roof. See MOON ROOF HEIGHT/ALIGNMENT  under ADJUSTMENTS.
  2. Check drain hose for damage or restrictions. If damage or restrictions does not exist, go to next step. If damage or restrictions exists, repair or replace as necessary.
  3. Check moon roof seal for condition and correct fitting. If moon roof seal is in good condition and fitted correctly, go to next step. If moon roof seal is not in good condition or not fitted correctly, replace moon roof seal.
  4. Check gap between moon roof glass panel and moon roof seal. If gap between moon roof and moon roof seal is greater than .001" (.25 mm), replace moon roof seal. If gap between moon roof and moon roof seal is .001" (.25 mm) or less, go to next step.
  5. Check weatherstrip between moon roof glass panel and moon roof frame for cracking. Check headliner for water marks. If cracks in weatherstrip or water marks on headliner were found, replace weatherstrip. If no cracks or water marks were found, go to next step.
  6. Check contours of moon roof glass panel for damage or warpage. If vehicle roof contours match that of moon roof glass panel, verify customer concern. If contours do not match, adjust or replace moon roof glass panel as necessary.
