Test A: One Power Door Lock Inoperative

  1. Manually operate suspect door lock and check for binding or sticking lock. If door lock is not binding or sticking, go to next step. If door lock is binding or sticking, repair or replace as necessary and retest system operation.
  2. Press door lock switch to unlock position. Remove door trim panel and disconnect suspect door lock motor harness connector. Measure voltage between ground and appropriate door lock circuit at suspect door lock motor harness connector while pressing door lock switch to lock position. See POWER DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION  table. If more than 10 volts exists, go to next step. If 10 volts or less exists, repair appropriate circuit between door lock motor and power door lock switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Retest system operation.
    POWER DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION

    Door Lock Motor Wire Color
    Left Front Door White/Black
    Left Rear Door White/Green
    Right Front Door (1) White/Black
    Right Rear Door White/Green
    (1) White/Blue wire on models with power windows.
  3. Press door lock switch to lock position. Measure voltage between ground and appropriate unlock circuit at door lock motor harness connector while pressing door lock switch to unlock position. See POWER DOOR UNLOCK CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION  table. If more than 10 volts exists, go to next step. If 10 volts or less exists, left front door is inoperative and vehicle is equipped with anti-theft system, go to step  5 . If 10 volts or less exists on all others, repair appropriate circuit between power door lock switch and door lock motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Retest system operation.
    POWER DOOR UNLOCK CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION

    Door Lock Motor Wire Color
    Left Front Door Yellow/Violet
    Left Rear Door Yellow/Black
    Right Front Door (1) Yellow/Violet
    Right Rear Door Yellow/Black
    (1) Yellow/Green wire on models with power windows.
  4. Measure resistance between ground and suspect door lock motor harness connector Black wire terminal. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace suspect door lock motor and retest system operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire between door lock motor and ground. Retest system operation.
  5. Disconnect central locking module 13-pin harness connector C451B located at right side "A" pillar. Measure resistance in Yellow/Violet wire between central locking module harness connector C451B terminal No. 5 and left front door lock motor harness connector terminal No. 2. See Fig 1 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace central locking module. Retest system operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow/Violet wire between central locking module and door lock motor. Retest system operation.
