Engine Mount: Installation

- Make sure correct alignment.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the bolts, the through bolt and remove the left-hand front engine support insulator.
- Replace the left-hand engine support insulator with special tool.
- Install the special tool.
- Install the bolts.
- Install the through bolt and finger tighten.
- Remove the right-hand engine support insulator through bolt.
- Loosen the mounting bolts, but do not remove.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the front engine support insulator.
- Install the radiator coolant expansion tank.
- Install the upper front engine support bracket.
- Remove the three bar engine support and universal lifting eye.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Install the right-hand engine support insulator bolts.
- Install the insulator through bolt.
- Install the insulator mounting bolts.
- Replace the powertrain alignment gauge with the left-hand engine support insulator.
- Install the through bolt.
- Install the bolts.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the power steering pressure line bracket.
- Position the power steering pressure line and bracket.
- Install the ground strap.
- Install the bolt.
- Install the ignition wires and retainer onto the upper front engine support bracket studs.
- Install the water pump pulley shield.
- Install the shield.
- Install the bolts.
- Attach the coolant expansion tank hose to the bracket.
- Fill the power steering system. .
CAUTION:
If the upper front engine support insulator, front subframe, or the front engine support bracket has been removed, the engine and transaxle position must be realigned to the front subframe. Failure to realign the engine and transaxle can result in excessive driveline vibration.
NOTE:
New self-locking nuts must be installed.
NOTE:
Make sure that the new nuts are aligned with the marks on the engine support bracket.
NOTE:
Verify that the right-hand engine support insulator is centered in the transaxle bracket and in perfect front-to-rear alignment before tightening the through bolt or the mounting bolts.
NOTE:
Verify that the left-hand engine support insulator is centered in the transaxle bracket and in perfect front-to-rear alignment before tightening the through bolt.
