Timing Drive Components: Removal

Remove the engine front cover. For additional information, refer to ENGINE FRONT COVER .
Remove the camshaft synchronizer drive gear.
1. Remove the bolt.
2. Remove the camshaft synchronizer drive gear.

Rotate the crankshaft until the timing marks and keyways align.

Compress and install a retaining pin to hold the timing chain tensioner.

Remove the camshaft sprocket, the crankshaft sprocket and the timing chain as an assembly.

Remove the bolts and the timing chain tensioner.
