Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  3. If necessary, detach the electrical connector from the RH inner fender splash shield.

  4. If necessary, remove the 6 screws, the pushpin and the RH inner fender splash shield.

  5. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
  6. NOTE: If necessary, lubricate the HO2S with lock lubricant to assist in removal.

  7. Using the special tool, remove the HO2S.
    • To install, tighten to 46 Nm (34 lb-ft).
  8. NOTE: Apply anti-seize to the threads of the HO2S.
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
