Catalyst Monitor Sensor - 4.6L (2V) and 5.4L (3V)

MATERIAL REFERENCE

Item Specification
Penetrating and Lock Lubricant XL-1 (in Canada CXC-51-A) -
High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant XL-2 or equivalent ESE-M12A4-A
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  3. NOTE: If necessary, lubricate the catalyst monitor sensor with penetrating and lock lubricant to assist in removal.

  4. Using the special tool, remove the catalyst monitor sensor.
    • To install, tighten to 46 Nm (34 lb-ft).
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Apply anti-seize to the threads of the catalyst monitor sensor.
