Valve Cover - RH: Installation

- Apply instant gel adhesive completely around the gasket groove in the valve cover and install the new valve cover gasket.
- Apply the silicone gasket and sealant in 2 places where the engine front cover meets the cylinder head.
- Install the valve cover and tighten the valve cover bolts in the sequence shown.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Install the suction accumulator and install the nuts.
- Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
- Attach the 5 engine wiring harness retainers to the valve cover stud bolts.
- Position the transmission fluid level indicator tube and install the bolt.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Position the PCV tube and connect the quick connect couplings. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Install the PCM and bracket. For additional information, refer to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS .
NOTE:
If the valve cover is not secured within 4 minutes, the sealant must be removed and the sealing area cleaned with silicone gasket remover and metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging. Allow to dry until there is no sign of wetness, or 4 minutes, whichever is longer. Failure to follow this procedure can cause future oil leakage.
