Pinpoint Test A: A Single Door Lock Is Inoperative

  1. A1 CHECK THE MANUAL OPERATION OF THE SUSPECT DOOR LOCK 
    • Manually operate the inoperative door lock.
    • Check for binding or a stuck condition.
    • Is the lock stuck or binding? 
    • Yes  : REPAIR binding components. TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : GO to A2.
  2. A2 CHECK THE LOCK ACTUATOR FOR THE LOCK OPERATION 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Passenger Door Lock Actuator C603.
    • Disconnect: Driver Door Lock Actuator C525.
    • Measure the voltage between the inoperative door lock actuator C603 (passenger) or C525 (driver), circuit 117 (PK/BK), harness side and ground while operating the door lock control switch to the lock position.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    • Yes  : GO to A3.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. A3 CHECK THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FOR UNLOCK OPERATION 
    • Measure the voltage between the inoperative door lock actuator C603 (passenger) or C525 (driver), circuit 118 (PK/OG), harness side and ground while operating the door lock control switch to the unlock position.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    • Yes  : INSTALL a new door lock actuator. REFER to DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR  in this article. TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
