Handles, Locks, Latches And Mechanisms

The hood consists of the following components:

On all doors with lock actuators, the door lock actuator is removed as part of the door latch assembly.

The sliding door consists of the following components:

Vehicles equipped with a sliding door use a vehicle security module to control the lock and unlock function as well as the sliding door memory locking feature. For diagnostic information, refer to LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS - MODULE CONTROLLED .

The remote keyless entry system (RKE) has 2 main components:

The RKE transmitter initiates the following electronic system functions:

NOTE: The remote entry lock and unlock features function when the ignition switch is in the OFF, RUN, ON, or ACC position.
NOTE: The remote entry panic feature functions when the ignition switch is in the OFF, ON, or ACC position.
NOTE: The RKE transmitter has a minimum operating range of 10 m (33 feet).

The RKE transmitters are reprogrammable and must be set at the same time. The RKE transmitters can be programmed by using the ignition lock cylinder method. For additional information, refer to REMOTE TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING . To confirm that the doors have been locked, press the RKE transmitter LOCK button again, within 3 seconds of the first press. The horn sounds once if the doors have locked and all the doors are closed. The horn sounds twice if 1 or more doors are open.

To activate the panic alarm, press the RKE transmitter PANIC button. The horn sounds and the parking lamps flash for a maximum of 2 minutes and 45 seconds.

To deactivate the panic alarm, press the RKE transmitter PANIC button again, press the RKE transmitter UNLOCK button, or turn the key to ON/ACC.
