Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2002 Ford RV Cutaway, 2002 Ford Pickup, 2002 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2002 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2002 Ford Excursion. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove engine cover. See ENGINE COVER . Disconnect Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) actuator harness connector. Disconnect actuating links. Remove 3 bolts and IMRC actuator. See Fig 1.
  2. To install, rotate motor driver plate by pulling linkages inward until levers contact set screws. Ensure levers remain in contact with set screws. Install IMRC actuator and tighten bolts. Install actuating links with NEW plastic retainers. If levers do not contact set screws, loosen IMRC actuator bolts and reposition. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
