Removal & Installation (Rear Rack Assembly)

NOTE: Rear rack assembly is optional. Not all vehicles are equipped with rear rack assembly.
  1. Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  .
  2. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove trunk lid. Remove cover panel. Remove trunk carpet. Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect rear tank rack assembly wiring harness connector. Vent system of residual pressure by slowly loosening fuel line tube nut fitting on fuel line to rear tank rack assembly. After system is vented, disconnect fitting.
  3. Remove flexible tube retainer nuts. Move aside fuel line and harness connector. Lower vehicle. Remove luggage compartment rear fuel tank rack assembly bolts. Install eyelet bolts into top forward bracket and rear crossmember assembly. Loop nylon straps through eyelet bolts. Connect nylon straps to Powertrain Lift (014-00765).
  4. Using powertrain lift, remove rear fuel tank rack assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure. Lubricate new "O" rings with 5W-30 engine oil. After installation is complete, CNG fuel lines must be leak tested. Perform appropriate leak test under FUEL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - EEC-V - NGV article.
