Camshaft Roller Follower: Removal

  1. Remove the valve cover (6582). For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER - LH , VALVE COVER - RH, 4.6L  or VALVE COVER - RH, 5.4L .
  2. Position the piston (6108) of the cylinder being repaired at the bottom of the stroke.

  3. Install the special tool between the valve spring coils to prevent valve stem seal damage.

  4. Use the special tool to compress the valve springs (6513) and remove the camshaft roller followers.
