Electronic Ignition

The Electronic Ignition (EI) system generates a Profile Ignition Pick-Up (PIP) signal (engine RPM) and sends it to the PCM. Signal received by the PCM affects transmission strategy, Wide Open Throttle (WOT) shift control, TCC operation and EPC pressure.
