Extension Housing Seal & Bushing: Removal

CAUTION:
Use the extension housing bushing remover carefully so that the seal area is not damaged.

NOTE:
To maintain initial driveshaft balance, mark the rear driveshaft yoke and axle flange so they can be installed in their original alignment.
Position the vehicle on a hoist. Place transmission in Neutral. Mark the rear driveshaft. See Figure . Remove the rear driveshaft bolts. Remove the rear driveshaft. Using the Slide Hammer (100-001) and Seal Remover (307-309), remove the extension housing seal. See Fig 1 . Using the Bushing Remover (308-070), remove the extension housing bushing. See Fig 2 .
