The 4R100 automatic transmission is identified by a tag located on left side of case, to rear of Transmission Range (TR) sensor. Top line of tag shows assembly part number. Second line on tag shows model number. Third line of tag shows serial number. Last line of tag shows build date. See Fig 1.
