Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (7.3L DI Turbo Diesel Only)

Accelerator Pedal (AP) position sensor is mounted on accelerator pedal on models with 7.3L diesel engines only. The AP position sensor detects position of accelerator pedal and sends information back to PCM as a voltage signal. If AP position sensor or related circuits fail, PCM recognizes a fault and boosts line pressure to prevent damage to transmission. This will create harsher upshifts and engagements.
