Crankshaft Pulley: Installation

- Install the crankshaft vibration damper and bolts.
- Tighten in the sequence shown.
- Tighten to 68 N.m (50 lb-ft).
- Tighten an additional 90 degrees.
- Install the accessory drive belt.
- Install the dual generator pulley and bolts.
- Install the dual generator accessory drive belt.
- Install the cooling fan stator - 6.0L diesel engine. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Connect the LH and RH battery ground cables.
All vehicles
CAUTION:
To prevent engine damage, you must always install 4 new bolts when installing the vibration damper.
NOTE:
Do not use anti-seize compounds, grease or any lubricants. Lubricants have an adverse effect on the torque results.
NOTE:
To prevent the crankshaft vibration damper from turning during tightening, install 2 bolts in the outer crankshaft vibration damper bolt holes and hold with a pry bar.
Vehicles with dual generator
All vehicles
