Drive Pinion Seal: Installation

  1. Lubricate the new pinion seal.
    • Use Premium Long-Life Grease XG-1-C or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M1C75-B.
    2. CAUTION: If the pinion seal becomes misaligned during installation, remove the seal and install a new one.

  2. Using the special tool, install the pinion seal.
  3. Install the pinion flange. For additional information, refer to DRIVE PINION FLANGE .
