Removal and Installation

NOTE: This procedure applies to all Excursion and F-Super Duty vehicles built after 12/03.
NOTE: On F-Super Duty vehicles built before 12/03, the wireless keyless entry keypad uses a self-adhesive material to attach it to the driver door. No wiring harness disconnect is necessary.
  1. Disconnect the battery. Refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  3. Position the watershield aside.
  4. Disconnect the keypad electrical connector.
    • Release the harness pin-type retainers.
  5. Remove the keyless entry keypad and harness.
    1. Remove the clip.
    2. Remove the keyless entry keypad and harness.

  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
