Diagnostic Aids

Any detected malfunction of AP sensor will illuminate MIL (Econoline) or SERVICE ENGINE SOON indicator (F650-750). An AP signal that is detected out of range (high or low) by PCM will cause engine to ignore AP signal and will only allow engine to operate at low idle. If a disagreement in state of Idle Validation Switch (IVS) and AP sensor is detected by PCM, engine will only be allowed to operate at low idle. Perform this test when directed by QUICK TEST. This test is only intended to diagnose the following components and circuits:
