Main Control Valve Body: Removal

NOTE: The pressure switches shown in this procedure will not be applicable to all vehicle applications. Some vehicles will not have the pressure switches or the harness installed in the valve body.
  1. Remove the transmission fluid pan, gasket and filter. Refer to FLUID PAN, GASKET AND FILTER .
  2. Disconnect the solenoid body electrical connector.

  3. NOTE: While lowering the solenoid body, the manual valve may fall out of the solenoid body.
    NOTE: While lowering the solenoid body, the forward clutch orifice may fall out of the transmission case.
  4. Remove the solenoid body.
    1. Disconnect the transmission range sensor electrical connector.
    2. Remove the solenoid body bolts.
  5. Remove the solenoid body.

  6. Remove the solenoid body gasket.
