Removal and Installation

- Drain the cooling system. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
- Remove the transmission oil cooler tubes from the radiator.
- Remove the fan blade, clutch and shroud. Refer to COOLING FAN - BLADE, CLUTCH AND SHROUD, 5.4L, 6.8L .
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the degas drain hose and the lower radiator hose from the radiator.
- Lower the vehicle. Refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the upper hose from the radiator.
- Remove the plastic pin-type retainers and position the radiator sight shield out of the way.
- Remove the bolts and the right upper radiator support.
- Remove the insulator.
- Remove the vent hose from the radiator.
- Remove the bolts and the left side radiator support.
- Remove the insulator.
- Remove the radiator and the lower insulators from the radiator or frame extension.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
