Removal and Installation

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
- Disconnect the (A) block heater wiring from the (B) block heater.
- Remove the block heater.
- Loosen the screw.
- Twist and slide the block heater to release the retainer clip and remove. Discard the retainer clip.
CAUTION: Do not loosen the block heater screw more than necessary for removal. - To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
To ease installation, coat the block heater seal and the cylinder block hole with grease.
