Intake Manifold: Installation

- Position the thermostat and housing.
- Install the upper intake manifold.
- Position the upper intake manifold gaskets and the intake manifold, and loosely install the bolts.
- Tighten the bolts in two stages, in the sequence shown.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- Connect the fuel line spring lock couplings. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION
- Connect the vacuum line to the fuel injection supply manifold.
- Install the ignition coils.
- Position the 10 ignition coils.
- Install the 10 bolts.
- Connect the five LH fuel injector, TB sensor electrical connectors and five LH ignition coil connectors.
- Connect the coolant hose.
- Connect the IAC motor bypass hose and connector.
- Connect the five RH fuel injector electrical connectors and five RH ignition coil connectors.
- Connect the vacuum line.
- Connect the PCV tube and the vacuum lines.
- Connect the heated PCV coolant hose.
- Install the accelerator bracket.
- Position the bracket.
- Install the bolts.
- Connect the accelerator and speed control cables and return spring.
- Install the accelerator cable splash shield.
- Connect the engine coolant outlet hose and position the hose clamp.
- Install the generator. Refer to GENERATORS & REGULATORS .
- Install the air cleaner outlet tube. Refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to ENGINE COOLING .
