Extension Housing Gasket: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Mark the driveshaft flange and the rear pinion flange for correct alignment during assembly.
- Remove the four bolts.
- Remove the driveshaft.
- Disconnect the catalyst monitoring sensor harness connectors. Remove the harness bracket.
- Remove the two nuts, one bolt and position the hanger aside.
- Install a suitable high lift transmission jack.
- Raise the transmission to gain access to the support insulator retainer bolt, remove the bolt and the support insulator.
- Remove the extension housing and gasket.
- Remove the bolts and nuts.
- Remove the extension housing and gasket.
NOTE:
The output shaft and driveshaft are a balanced assembly.
