Removal and Installation

Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
Remove the air cleaner and bracket assembly. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
Rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise and remove the drive belt from the generator pulley.

Remove the bolts retaining the upper intake plenum to the generator mounting bracket.

Remove the lower mounting bolts and position the generator aside.

Disconnect the intake manifold-tuning valve (IMTV) connector.

Disconnect the cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor electrical connector.

Remove the CHT sensor.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
