Removal and Installation

- Remove the engine cooling fan. For additional information, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Rotate the tensioner clockwise and remove the belt from the power steering pump pulley.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist.
- If equipped, remove the deflector shield.
- Using the special tool, remove the pulley.
- Inspect the pulley for paint marks in the web area near the hub. If there are 2 paint marks, install a new pulley. If there is no paint mark, use a paint pencil to mark the web area of the pulley near the hub.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Using the special tool, install the pulley.

NOTE:
Make sure to install the Power Steering Pump Pulley until it is flush with the power steering pump shaft. Inspect the belt alignment following installation to ensure correct alignment and prevent intermittent belt noise.
CAUTION:
Replacement of the Power Steering Pump Pulley is necessary after being removed and installed 2 times.
