Power Steering Fluid Reservoir: Removal

CAUTION: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of contaminants or premature failure of the power steering components can occur.

    ALL VEHICLES 

  1. Raise the vehicle. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the return hose from the power steering pump and drain the power steering oil reservoir.

  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. VEHICLES WITH 4.6L, 5.4L OR 6.8L ENGINE 

  5. Lift the reservoir out of the reservoir bracket.
  6. VEHICLES WITH 6.0L ENGINE 

  7. Remove the reservoir bolts from the bracket.

  8. Remove the bolts and remove the bracket.

  9. ALL VEHICLES 

  10. Compress the clamps and disconnect the power steering return hose and the power steering reservoir pump hose from the reservoir.
  11. Remove the power steering oil reservoir.
