Pinpoint Test C: The Roof Opening Panel Rattles

  1. C1 CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL OPERATION 
    • Check the roof opening panel during operation.
    • Is the roof opening panel loose? 

    Yes 

    ADJUST the roof opening panel. REFER to ROOF OPENING PANEL ALIGNMENT . TEST the system for normal operation.

    No 

    GO to C2.

  2. C2 CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL TRACKS 
    • Open the roof opening panel.
    • Check the tracks for obstructions and damage.
    • Are the tracks OK? 

    Yes 

    GO to C3.

    No 

    REMOVE any track obstructions in the roof opening panel tracks and REPAIR the tracks. TEST the system for normal operation.

  3. C3 CHECK THE WATER TROUGH AND TROUGH GUIDES 
    • Check the water trough and trough guides for any loose fasteners or obstructions.
    • Are the trough and trough guides installed securely and free from foreign material? 

    Yes 

    GO to C4.

    No 

    REMOVE all foreign material from the trough and install securely. SECURE the trough guides or REPAIR as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.

  4. C4 CHECK THE OPENING SHIELD 
    • Check the opening shield for correct installation.
    • Is the opening shield installed correctly? 

    Yes 

    GO to C5.

    No 

    INSTALL the opening shield correctly. REFER to ROOF OPENING PANEL . TEST the system for normal operation.

  5. C5 CHECK THE AIR DEFLECTOR ASSEMBLY 
    • Check the air deflector for obstructions and damage.
    • Is the air deflector OK? 

    Yes 

    GO to C6.

    No 

    REMOVE all obstructions and REPAIR or INSTALL a new air deflector assembly. REFER to ROOF OPENING PANEL . TEST the system for normal operation.

  6. C6 CHECK ROOF OPENING PANEL 
    • Verify the roof opening panel is free from obstruction, damage, and is securely fastened.
    • Is the roof opening panel OK? 

    Yes 

    INSTALL a new roof opening panel frame. REFER to ROOF OPENING PANEL . TEST the system for normal operation.

    No 

    REPAIR the roof opening panel as necessary. REFER to ROOF OPENING PANEL . TEST the system for normal operation.
