Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Mercury Mountaineer and 2004 Ford Explorer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The fuel tank pressure sensor is used to measure the fuel tank negative pressure during the Evaporative Emissions monitor test. It is also used to control excessive fuel tank pressures by forcing the EVAP system to purge. The fuel tank pressure sensor is vapor tube mounted.
