2nd Position - 2nd Gear

If this position is selected at normal road speeds, the transmission will downshift into the next lower gear and continue downshifting until the vehicle reaches 2nd gear.
The 2nd position provides:
- 2nd gear start and hold.
- torque converter clutch apply and release.
- improved traction on slippery roads.
- engine braking.
